Our Story
We started The Broken Path because we saw firsthand what happens when the uniform comes off, but the weight of the shift remains. Our frontline workers spend their lives stepping into other people’s worst days, yet so often, they are left to carry the silent, unseen emotional toll of that service completely alone at their own kitchen tables.

Our Story
The Broken Path is a registered charity that was formed to bring support and awareness to those who suffer from PTSD, Anxiety, or Mental Health.
Our focus is to support Frontline Workers and their families who have walked the path. We also focus on helping those who have encountered tragic circumstances.
The vision behind “The Broken Path” came from the personal encounters of Co-Founders Audrey, Stephen & Monique. Their story has been both physically and mentally challenging as they walked the paths of PTSD & Mental Health. They recoginsed the need for support for frontline workers and their families after experiencing a series of traumatic events as frontline workers.
Monique, Steve & Audrey are the visionaries behind this journey, they have found passion and purpose from personal experiences on the frontline and are aiming to bring people together who may have encountered similar traumatic events.
Monique has personally been affected by mental health and the struggles that come with it. After navigating through a tough period, she completed her Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety and Mental Health First Aid Training, and now works with people each day who have also been affected by similar circumstances.
Steve has been a firefighter for over 20 years. Throughout this time he has attended some extremely traumatic events along with an amazing crew. As a result of this, Steve has been personally impacted by PTSD and relates to our frontline workers. He is keen to share his story and help others along their path.
Audrey has been an essential worker for the past 15 years. Throughout this time she has helped thousands of individuals and families through some extremely tough times with some major events such as bush fires, floods and Covid playing a large part in the need for community assistance. She continues to provide resources and connect communities that are vulnerable.
Behind every act of bravery is a human being with emotions. Working together we hope to ease the burden one day at a time taking small steps to progress…
